House Bill 103 has been vetoed by Governor Rick Perry as of Friday. The bill would have required universities with 20,000 students or more to bill those students’ private insurance for any care received on campus.

According to Perry, those schools already have that ability but opt out of it for efficiency purposes. He also said that passing the bill would likely have raised health care costs for college students without raising quality of care.
