A Census Bureau report that came out Thursday shows that over a quarter of Texans are without health insurance. The report takes a two year average ending in 2008, showing a total of 5.9 million Texans without insurance. That’s 25.1% of all Texas residents.
While Texas does not have the most uninsured residents, California has 6.7 million, it does have the largest percentage in the nation. The second highest percentage was New Mexico with 23.1% of residents uninsured.
